Throughout her long accounting career, Emily has discovered and realized a passion for helping people to understand what story their business financial reports are telling. Her years of experience working with financial reports has revealed to her that that solid, consistent, and professional bookkeeping practices is the best way to tell those stories accurately. She started 123 Storytelling LLC in 2020 to provide professional bookkeeping services to small businesses, artists, makers, activists, advocates, entrepreneurs, and anyone wanting to better understand their business’ financial story.

Emily Wilson started her accounting career in 1987 when she was still in high school in Sacramento, CA. Participating in a Regional Occupational Training Program, she worked in the accounting office of a local credit union earning high school credits and discovering a real talent for working with numbers. After graduating from the program, she moved to Nashville, TN where she worked as a bookkeeper with some of the biggest names in country music, while simultaneously taking college courses to earn her Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Finance. After several years of working on Music Row, Emily found out she was going to be an aunt and moved quickly back to California, so as not to miss a thing.
After settling near her family in the San Francisco Bay Area, Emily completed her graduate work, earning a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) with an Accounting focus.
